England cruise past Andorra

England 5 - Andorra 0
Defoe and Crouch score two goals apiece as McClaren’s perfect start as England coach continued.
Against a very poor Andorra side, England dominated the game, scoring 5 and reducing Andorra to very rare excursions into the England half. England goalkeeper Robinson was a total spectator and touched the ball just 7 times - fielding no shots.
Hargreaves continued to impress and Gerrard was bright on the right wing, scoring with a great strike in the first half.
England kept the game simple again, getting the ball wide early. After Eriksson it is quite a contrast where the players often didn’t seem to know how they should be playing. With McClaren the game is very
; very little subtlety, but at a high tempo. The only concern is whether McClaren will have the tactics to beat a better opposition than he has faced so far.
Downing was worryingly ineffective against poor quality opposition.
England did what they had to do very efficiently. They scored plenty and didn’t give Andorra any chances.
