Czechs crush poor American team

Czech Republic 3 - USA 0

The USA were always second best against an impressive Czech Republic team.

The Europeans played with a fusion of flair and teamwork, with Nedved and Rosicky always looking dangerous going forward.

The American team looked 1-dimensional and lacked the creativity required to trouble the organised Czech defence, with too many aimless balls played forward to McBride to try and fight for in the air. When the ball was worked wide, the quality of crosses was frequently poor.

After an early goal from Koller, a fantastic strike from Rosicky after 35 minutes ended any chance of USA gaining a result. Rosicky ran onto a Nedved pass to score the 3rd in the second half.

An injury to Koller was the Czech’s only disappointment from the game.

USA’s lack of creativity. Apart from one Reyna shot off the post they never looked like scoring.

Rosicky’s first half strike was amongst the best of the tournament so far.
