Watford skipper experiences high and low of promotion and relegation
The weekend saw the first 2 play-off finals decided. Watford won promotion to the Premiership, defeating Leeds United 3-nil, and Hereford United returned to the league after 9 years in the Conference, beating Halifax Town 3-2 after extra time.
The winners of the LDV Vans Trophy final will lose out on £50,000 in prize money because the competition has lost its sponsor.

On top of the £50,000 prize money for winning the trophy, it seems like the clubs will also lose the money they would have expected for progressing through the previous rounds. Swansea have estimated this at around another £25,000.
The sponsor-less competition will be known as the Football League Trophy.
League 2 club Wrexham could find themselves thrown out of the League after a sudden surge of potential buyers might mean they are unable to come out of administration by the League’s June 3rd deadline.
Administrators say they have had nine expressions of interest in buying Wrexham so far.

Former chairman of Wrexham Football Club Alex Hamilton has failed to seize control of its Racecourse ground.
The Appeal Court in London has ruled that the stadium must remain in the hands of the club’s administrators.
The sale of the club will now go ahead and the administrators said the ruling was a “momentous day” in its history.
