Brazil 1982: the best team never to win?
Spain 1982 was the first World Cup I remember and my first memory is that of Bryan Robson’s 20-odd second goal in England’s first game against France.
The abiding memory, though, is of Brazil, and the most memorable game was the second stage match against eventual winners Italy. A weird, three-team play-off in the 2nd round left Italy needing to beat Brazil to qualify.

I remember this! I was only in my teens but I still remember it as it were yesterday! Great game I am wondering if the socceroos will be able to get their revenge on italy this year!
