The FA must decide next manager soon

Would you take the Newcastle job if you were O'Neill?
There is no doubt that the English FA were correct to state that Eriksson would be leaving after the World Cup. It ended potentially months of newspaper speculation.
The FA are also right to be taking their time appointing a new England manager—this is not a decision anyone would want rushed.
However, you have to feel some sympathy with Premiership clubs caught up in the middle of the decision.
Stuart Pearce, Alan Curbishley, Steve McClaren and Sam Allardyce are all English managers tipped to potentially on the FA’s shortlist. The potential disruption any delayed decision could cause these managers’ clubs could be huge with Bolton pushing for a Champions League place and Charlton and Man City with an outside chance of reaching the UEFA Cup. Middlesborough’s poor season also suggests that the club need to start planning for next season’s eventualities.
It is also unfair on teams without manager—if you were Martin O’Neill or Sam Allardyce would you take the Newcastle job if you thought you might be offered the England post.
