Arsene Wenger’s record at picking up bargains (let’s forget about Francis Jeffers) suggest Eduardo da Silva could be one to watch.
Aston Villa’s capture of West Ham renegades Nigel Reo-Coker (£8.5m) and Marlon Harewood could provide new owner Randy Lerner with good value for money if they can recapture their season-before-last form.
Last season saw Chelsea’s title bid stumble due to injuries to defenders. Tal Ben Haim, will provide Mourinho with more cover, and should allow Essien to continue to play more forward.
